There are many wonderful circular routes of about 10-15 km which are possible directly from the house. The bothy below is about one and half hours walk from Coulags on Fionn-abhainn
Walk 3 From Achnashellach Station there are a number of pleasant walks on good dry paths up the valley side with views of Glen Carron opening up. After crossing the railway line go right following the sign posts to the Coulin Pass: the initial part of the walk will go through coniferous woodland, but after the steady climb the trees thin and then disappear leaving open moorland with nice picnic spots amongst Caledonian pine forest along the River Coulin. If you take the left hand path there are pleasant picnic spots in birch woodland along the Allt an Lech-chreig, but the rocky path that follows is quite a slog for a novice.
Good detailed guidebooks to local walks:
Peter Barton "Torridon" (Cicerone Press)
Peter Barton "Torridon, a walkers guide"
Martin Moran "Lochcarron Wester Ross A guide to local Walks"
Mary Welsh and Christine Isherwood "Walking Wester Ross" (Clan Guides 3)
